Feastudy is available on different platforms and in different editions. Understanding this distinction is the easiest way to choose the right Feastudy product for your property feasibility work.
The three Feastudy platforms are:
The two Feastudy editions are:
Feastudy for PC and Feastudy for Mac are available in both Lite and Professional editions. Feastudy Online is only available as a Professional edition.
| Platform | Available editions |
|---|---|
| Feastudy Online | Professional only |
| Feastudy for PC | Lite and Professional |
| Feastudy for Mac | Lite and Professional |
For most commercial users, Feastudy Professional is the recommended edition because it provides the broadest feasibility modelling capability.
Your platform choice depends on how you want to access Feastudy and whether you prefer online or desktop software.
Feastudy Online is the browser-based Feastudy platform.
It is suitable if you want online access without installing desktop software. It may be a good choice for users who want to access Feastudy from different computers, or for organisations with multiple users.
Choose Feastudy Online if:
Feastudy Online is only available as a Professional edition.
Feastudy for PC is the Windows desktop Feastudy platform.
It is suitable if you want to install Feastudy on a Windows computer and work with locally managed files. This may be the best option if your main working environment is Windows and you prefer a traditional desktop application workflow.
Choose Feastudy for PC if:
Feastudy for PC is available in both Feastudy Lite and Feastudy Professional editions.
Feastudy for Mac is the Mac desktop Feastudy platform.
It is suitable if you want to install Feastudy on a Mac and work with locally managed files. This may be the best option if your main working environment is macOS and you prefer a desktop application rather than browser-based software.
Choose Feastudy for Mac if:
Feastudy for Mac is available in both Lite and Professional editions.
After choosing your preferred platform, the next question is whether you need Lite or Professional.
Feastudy Lite is the simpler edition of Feastudy.
It is intended for users with more limited feasibility requirements. It may suit users who only need simpler development and residual land value analysis and who do not require the broader functionality available in Feastudy Professional.
Feastudy Lite may be suitable if:
Feastudy Lite is available for:
It is not available for Feastudy Online.
Feastudy Professional is the full edition of Feastudy.
It is intended for users who need broader and more flexible feasibility modelling capability.
Feastudy Professional is recommended if:
Feastudy Professional is available for:
| If you need... | Consider... |
|---|---|
| Browser-based access | Feastudy Online Professional |
| Windows desktop software | Feastudy for PC Lite or Professional |
| Mac desktop software | Feastudy for Mac Lite or Professional |
| Simpler development and residual land value studies | Feastudy Lite for PC or Mac |
| Development, investment, residual and develop-and-hold studies | Feastudy Professional |
| Multi-user online access | Feastudy Online Professional |
| Locally managed desktop files | Feastudy for PC or Feastudy for Mac |
We recommend most property developers should consider Feastudy Professional, either online or desktop.
Recommended options:
These options are generally most suitable where more detailed development feasibility studies are required for: modelling various debt and equity funding scenarios, joint venture analysis, monthly loan to value ratios, and a mixture of GST treatments for mixed-use developments. Also, the Professional versions of Feastudy enable the developer to undertake investment feasibility analysis for newly developed properties, develop-and-hold investment studies and the consolidation of various development cashflows for corporate budgeting purposes.
We recommend that valuers consider Feastudy Professional, particularly if property feasibility studies and residual land value analyses are a significant part of their professional work.
Recommended options:
These options support: more flexibility in the way GST is handled in their financial feasibility and residual land value analyses, the exporting of reports to CSV files (for spreadsheet use) and DOCX files, loan to value ratio (LVR) metrics, and the ability to enter notes within the data entry windows of a Feastudy feasibility file.
We suggest that consultants and advisers, who are not valuers, consider Feastudy Professional, particularly if property feasibility studies are a significant part of their professional work.
Recommended options:
We suggest that Feastudy Professional is generally the better option for consultants and advisors whose clients require both development and investment feasibility studies reports to be provided in more depth and breadth.
Investors may choose either Feastudy Lite or Feastudy Professional depending on the complexity of their work.
Feastudy Lite may be suitable for simpler development feasibility requirements, whereas we suggest that Feastudy Professional should be considered where more detailed development feasibility modelling, investment analyses and/or develop-and-hold investment analyses are required.
Students and occasional users may find Feastudy Lite suitable if their requirements are simple. However, if a course, project or professional requirement involves more detailed modelling, Feastudy Professional may still be the better choice.
